Our Sugarcane Straws can be reused several times if properly cleaned and stored, though they are intended to be a one-time use product.

Do your Sugarcane products affect my blood sugar if I have glucose-sensitive conditions?
No. Our Sugarcane products should pose no issue to those with diabetes or glucose-sensitive conditions.
Once the sugar is extracted from the sugarcane crop, the remaining plant fibers are then processed into pellets to create our sugarcane plant fiber straws.

How should I dispose of your Sugarcane products?
To ensure quick and maximum degradation, we recommend our straws be collected in composting bins and sent to composting facilities where they will naturally degrade into nutrient-rich organic materials. If no composting bins are available at your location, our straws will take longer to degrade naturally compared to commercial composting.

How are your Sugarcane Straws better than paper straws?
Our Sugarcane Straws will not become soggy like paper straws and will not impart any paper taste or flavor. Our Sugarcane Straws do not have any coatings and we do not use any dyes — which are common characteristics in paper straws. You can see our Straw Comparison Chart here.

How are your Sugarcane Straws better than plastic straws?
Our Sugar cane fiber straws are 100% compostable and made with 100% plant-based ingredients from renewable resources. Our Sugarcane Straws are generally more rigid than plastic straws due to the incorporation of sugar cane fibers.

How are your Sugarcane Straws better than metal straws?
Metal straws cannot be composted, cannot biodegrade, and (unfortunately) is not a cost-effective solution for many businesses. Although reusable, which we definitely love and encourage, metal straws still involve the mining of heavy metals themselves, which entails a whole host of environmental impacts such as pollution. Our Sugarcane Straws do not impart a metallic taste when drinking, is safer to use for those that need soft straws, and our straws do not stay cold when drinking iced drinks.
